*This training is suitable for beginners
Essential oils used in aromatherapy are extracted from various parts of plants and then distilled. The highly concentrated oils may be inhaled directly or indirectly or applied to the skin through massage, lotions , creams or bath salts.
Aromatherapy works by stimulating smell receptors in the nose, which then send messages through the nervous system to the limbic system — the part of the brain that controls emotions.
Aromatherapy can be used by itself or integrated with other therapies and treatment modalities such as Holistic Massage, Hot Stone Massage, Indian Head Massage and Reflexology.
Research on the the therapeutic use of essential oils extracted from plants has shown Aromatherapy to be effective in helping many health benefits including relief from anxiety and stress, pain reduction for people with osteoarthritis, improved sleep , relief from digestive ailments etc
“Aromatherapy is a caring, hands-on therapy which seeks to induce relaxation, to increase energy, to reduce the effects of stress and to restore lost balance to mind, body and soul.”– Robert Tisserland
